SharePad is built to keep your data on your Mac. Here is exactly what touches the internet, across the app, this website, and checkout. The short version: almost nothing.

The app

SharePad shows your connected iPad in a window on your Mac. There's no account, no sign-in, and no third-party analytics SDKs in the app. Nothing about what you draw, write or share ever leaves your machine.

The only time the app reaches the internet is an automatic check for a new version (via Sparkle), which fetches the update feed and download from sharepad.co and GitHub. That request carries only what's needed to deliver an update, never your data or anything about what you share. We log these update checks in aggregate only — the app version and an approximate country (derived at the edge) — to see roughly how many installs are active and which versions are in use. No IP address is stored, and there is no identifier that could tie a check back to you or your device.

SharePad can optionally send anonymous crash and diagnostic reports to help us fix problems. This is off by default and only happens if you turn it on in the app. When enabled, it sends crash and hang reports (Apple's standard on-device diagnostics) and a small set of anonymous error signals, for example that a share was lost or a licence key failed to validate. It never includes what you draw or share, or your licence email or key, and there is no account, cookie, advertising or device identifier. Crash reports are Apple's standard diagnostics and can include app and system file paths. You can turn it off again at any time.

This website

sharepad.co uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first measurement tool. It records aggregate page views and traffic sources to help us understand what's useful. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint you, and does not track you across other sites. No personal information is collected by the website itself.

Buying SharePad

Checkout is handled by Stripe, acting as merchant of record. When you buy, Stripe collects the details needed to process the payment and apply the correct tax: typically your name, email address, billing country and card details. Stripe handles that information under Stripe's Privacy Policy.

We (Yardley Software) receive a record of the sale, such as your email address and country, so we can deliver your download and help if you need support. We do not sell or share this information, and we don't use it for marketing.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about a purchase, request a copy, or ask us to delete it. Under UK GDPR you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
