Terms & Refunds
Last updated: 7 June 2026
No surprises. Here's what you're buying, who you're buying it from, and how to get your money back if it's not for you.
What you're buying
A one-time purchase of the ready-to-run, signed and notarised macOS build of SharePad, including automatic updates for the life of the app. There's no subscription and no account.
SharePad is free and open-source software under the GPLv3. You can always build it yourself from the source on GitHub at no cost. There is no licence key, and the bought build and a self-built build are identical. Your payment buys the convenience of a prebuilt, auto-updating app and supports the project's development.
Who you're buying from
SharePad is made and sold by Yardley Software (Jon Yardley), based in the United Kingdom. Payments are processed by Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record for your purchase. Stripe handles billing, receipts and tax. Your card statement and receipt may show Yardley Software and/or Stripe.
Price & tax
SharePad costs £6.99 (GBP), paid once. The price is tax-inclusive: any VAT or sales tax that applies in your country is included in that figure and is calculated and remitted by Stripe.
Refunds
If SharePad doesn't work for you, you can have your money back. Just ask within 30 days of purchase and we'll refund you in full, no quibble.
Because SharePad is a digital download, your download is made available immediately at checkout, so by completing your purchase you agree that delivery begins right away. The 30-day refund above is offered as goodwill regardless, and is in addition to any rights you have under consumer law. Refunds are issued through Stripe to your original payment method.
To request a refund, reply to the receipt Stripe emailed you, or open an issue on GitHub.
Updates & support
The app updates itself automatically (via Sparkle). Support is best-effort and free, via GitHub issues.
No warranty
As open-source software under the GPLv3, SharePad is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms removes statutory rights you have as a consumer.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
